Procrastination or Temporary Detour?

UPDATE: July 5, 2022

Well procrastination won. LOL
It was 2014 since I added anything here. Where has the time gone?
The book is in the file cabinet waiting to finish being edited!
I did start but never continued. Life got in the way.
Now I am 75 and considering moving in with family in Virginia.
I hope when I am done clearing out my home that Ive been in for 30 years, I will finish the book and maybe even add a few chapters. LOL
I have led an amazing life and am very grateful for the many wonderful adventures
I have had along the way and the amazing people I have met.
I leave you with this thought, if you can do nothing else, remember to try and do
an act of kindness every day. It can be a simple as calling a friend.
God bless and hoping to add more when I am done clearing out!

Well life changes and good things happen and then change once again. i got a job in a company that had been around 40 years. Two months after I start they announce they are closing!!!! I must admit the timing was perfect for getting the job. The first two months paid bills that were due in November. I am grateful and blessed. Also listening to Louise Hay's CD about affirmations and positive thinking make me trust that all things are working for my good. So here I sit, grateful and waiting to see what His plans are for me now. I need to get back to what I started, publishing the book, maybe that is the plan!!!! Happy Holidays All!

Home At Last

The Manuscript did find its way home. It traveled more places in a month then I have in the past ten years. By the way NEVER put tape over "part" of the zip code! Evidently the machines can not read the whole code if only part of it has tape. Valuable lesson learned.
I am currently working on the process of getting it on line. I would like to do both a print on demand and eBook version.
I WILL figure it out, I am tenacious when it comes to achieving a goal. Will let you know when it is done!

Lost Manuscript

The reason I started this blog was because of a book I wrote and finished ten years ago. I have been listening to Louise Hay CD about affirmations. It suggests you listen to it for thirty days. I have it in my car. I listen and repeat many of the affirmations.

It has inspired me to follow my dreams. I started writing a new novel but the old manuscript kept calling to me from the folder on my desk. "Finish me first" it whispered. I decided to work on it going through each page with love and caring, editing out things out that didn't seem relevant any longer. I then sent it off to my editor friend with a postage paid return envelope enclosed.

She completed the editing and called me to say it was in the mail. A week passed then in the middle of the second week I called for the tracking number. (Never send anything without a tracking number!). The editor lives in VA I live in FL. It went from VA to NC to Bell Gardens, CA, back to Jacksonville, FL then back to Bell Gardens, CA. I called the customer service number they took my info and asked me to be patient.

That was like being in the mall, having your three year old child lost and the security guard saying don't worry he will be returned at some point!

I did get a call the next day from my local post office. Once again I gave her the information. I asked cant we call this Bell Garden facility? I went into Google, typed their name hoping to get the phone number. All these complaints came up about this facility losing mail. My precious manuscript had gotten in the twilight zone of the United States Post Office. Evidently if it gets there it often doesn't make it out. The girl on the phone was trying to reassure me as I was saying "I cant believe what I am reading, you really need to Google this place!!!"

I suspect she already knew. She sounded empathetic and I told her I was going to trust her to help me and I had every confidence she would get my manuscript delivered to the right address. That was five days ago. Still no manuscript, however it did leave Bell Gardens, CA two days ago, for where, I don't know, it didn't say. I wondered was it traveling by train, truck, freighter??? The mind of a writer thinks of all possibilities. It did say to keep checking back, you can be assured I will!

I tried to make a joke out of it, and said it went off to Hollywood without me. It knew it was good!!! But in my heart I felt like all my editors hard work was lost and I doubt the PO would pay for another edit. But who knows. I do have another copy in my pc. I asked God what was I suppose to learn from this experience and then waited for an answer.

A day of so later I found out about a writing contest that was seeking a 900 word Essay on Life Experiences. I wrote it, but before submitting it, read the rules. It appears that the essay whole or in part cannot be published or submitted anywhere else till after May of 2015.

When my manuscript returns home I need to pull the essay out of the book. I suddenly felt like God had a plan and I just needed to trust the process. I will let you know when it comes home from the USPS twilight zone. I am thinking positive, Louise Hay says when you think in the present about what you want, the universe brings it to you. :-)

Button Pushing

Well I signed on to do something else and ended up pushing the publish button which means my blog is on the website. I could delete the page, but I believe nothing happens in the universe by accident. So maybe the universe is pushing me to work on my blog!
a brief update of progress:

AAAAACCCCCKKKKKKK (that is a scream) LOL

I have been reading and trying to understand how to do an ebook as well as one that can be printed on demand. I have read lots of articles, books etc. However I am a visual person. Once you show me, most times I get it. You tube videos have been visual for me, and I thought I had it but lost it. :-)

At my writers group someone did make a suggestion that sounded good and will attempt to try her idea.

Today life is good. Its Sunday my most cherished day. Relaxing, cooking, computer time, time to think, imagine and visualize all to come.
